LeapFrog Tag Review

LeapFrog Tag is a system for preschoolers that teaches basic reading skills and phonics.  This interactive reading system is also responsible for developing love for reading for thousands of young kids because of the fun ways it teaches reading with pictures that sing, words that talk and stories that are read aloud.  It is one of the best-selling educational toys for kids in the world.

Forty LeapFrog Tag books and activity games included in the LeapFrog Tag library are familiar to your child because they're based on favorite movies, TV characters and classic tales.  The storybooks lead your child through fun learning activities, vocabulary building, reading comprehension, and phonics skills.

The LeapFrog Tag reader device can store up to 10 audio books. It is small enough to fit in small hands comfortably. LeapFrog Tag  can be connected to a computer so your child can collect his or her fun rewards for a job well done.

This interactive reading system is considered to be one of the best educational toys for kids. Children love the idea of reading a book by themselves without the help of their parents.  The LeapFrog Learning Path lets you, the parent, see your child's progress and interests online.

Three of your child's senses are engaged to help him or her learn to read better and retain what he or she has learned while using the LeapFrog Tag.  They hear the stories in the LeapFrog Tag read to them. Kids see TV characters, movie characters and classic tales come to life before their eyes, urging the child to interact with them.  As your child touches the screen, characters leap to life singing and reading stories to him or her.

My younger son who just turned 3 years old plays with the LeapFrog Tag several times each week, especially in the car on his way to preschool. His favorite Tag books are "The Little Engine That Could", "Click Clack Moo, Cows That Type", and "Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom".

My older son, almost 5 years old, used the LeapFrog Tag until just recently, and now he has moved on to using the LeapFrog LeapPad as one of his best educational toys.

LeapFrog Tag Library

There are more than 40 books in the LeapFrog Tag library.  It's a sure thing that kids will find several books that interests them.  Parents can connect a USB cable to a computer and download books to the LeapFrog Tag Reader.  The Reader will hold up to 10 books at a time.

If you are buying the LeapFrog Tag Reading System for the first time, you can purchase it in either green or purple. You also have the choice of saving money by purchasing the Tag Reader along with a set of books.

Children all over the world love LeapFrog Tag.  It has earned 28 awards of excellence in six countries.

Kindergarten teachers participate in the LeapFrog Tag Kindergarten Program to help beginning readers not only learn to read but love to read.  There is no better gift to give a child than a love for reading.

Customer Reviews of the LeapFrog Tag Reading System

“Overall a definite winner. My son plays with LeapFrog Tag all of the time, loves it, and seems to be learning from it. He loves that he can "read" books to himself and doesn't always have to depend on mom and dad to do it for him. I highly recommend this, especially for preschoolers.”

“Why…. back in my day we had to read books the old fashion way, without the aid of a little pen that read to us in different voices and explained things and generally made reading more fun. I was really impressed with the scope of information that is in the pen that can be unlocked through the special books. The young readers that I tested this out on really had a ball. It was great to see them so excited about reading. Very cool.”

“We bought the LeapFrog Tag for my 4 year old son because he loves books. The look on his face when he first tried it was priceless, that alone was worth the money. The books are about the same price as a normal book so we were happy to get the system. Our 2 year old even likes to use it when his brother takes a break from it. I would recommend this to any toddler that shows an interest in reading. Great for car trips too!”

LeapFrog Tag Reading System – Summary

LeapFrog Tag received 4 stars out of 5 for overall customer satisfaction.  Customers were not only delighted by how LeapFrog Tag reads stories to their toddlers, but they loved how their kids would stay involved with the system for extended periods of time.  Parents love that their kids can operate LeapFrog Tag without their help.

With more than 40 books in the LeapFrog Tag Library, you have a wide array of stories to choose from.  You will find your child wanting new books, but also enjoying the books he already has over and over again.  There is nothing like the laughter of a child who is totally engaged by a story being read to him.

We give LeapFrog Tag a high rating for the rating it received from six countries and millions of satisfied parents and grandparents who have witnessed first hand the ability of LeapFrog Tag to engage their children and grandchildren into fun, interactive reading.

I would like to mention that you should not expect your child to be able to learn to read just by using the LeapFrog Tag system. No one tool or toy can accomplish that. But the LeapFrog Tag will help reinforce the phonics, pre-reading and basic reading skills that your child may be learning from you or in preschool. It also helps if you interract with your child while he or she is using the LeapFrog Tag so that they get a better understanding of the skills being taught.

The best price we found for the LeapFrog Tag system is at Amazon.com.  As a busy working mother of two young children, Amazon is one of my favorite places to shop because of convenience and quick shipping. Amazon is noted for its excellent customer service and for shipping your product promptly. As of the time of this writing, Amazon offers a savings of 13% on the LeapFrog Tag. You may also want to read more reviews of LeapFrog Tag available on the site.
